Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Solvifin ("Solvifin", "we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use solvifin.com and our loan-matching tools (the "Platform"). We aim to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder.
1. Who we are — and what we are not
Solvifin is a loan-comparison and referral platform. We are not a lender, not a bank, not an NBFC and not a credit bureau. We do not sanction loans, set interest rates, or pull your credit report. We help you check indicative eligibility and connect you with third-party RBI-regulated lenders you choose.
2. Information we collect
(a) Information you provide
- Identity & contact: name, email, mobile number, city/PIN.
- Financial self-disclosures: loan type & amount, monthly income, existing EMIs, employment type, age, self-rated credit band, and loan-specific details (e.g., property value, business turnover, gold value, household income).
- Communications you send us (support queries, feedback).
(b) Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive data such as full bank credentials, OTPs, or government IDs on this Platform. Such details, if ever required, are collected by the lender on the lender's own site.
3. How we use your data
- To run a soft, indicative eligibility pre-check and match you with suitable lenders.
- To refer you to the lender(s) you select and pass the details needed to process your enquiry.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To operate, secure and improve the Platform.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal basis — your consent
We process your personal data based on the consent you give when you tick the consent box and submit your details, and to provide the service you request. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (Section 11); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and may mean we can no longer match you with lenders.
5. Sharing with lenders & partners
When you choose to be referred to a lender, we share the relevant details you provided with that lender (and/or our referral/affiliate partner facilitating the introduction) so they can contact you and assess your application. Each lender is an independent data controller and processes your data under its own privacy policy. We are paid a referral/affiliate fee by partners; this does not add any cost to you.
We may also share data with service providers (hosting, analytics) under confidentiality obligations, and where required by law, regulator or court.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Data retention
We retain your data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised. We generally retain eligibility-check inputs for no longer than 24 months from your last activity.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (including encryption in transit) to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act, you may request to: access a summary of your data, correct or update it, erase it, withdraw consent, and nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death/incapacity. To exercise these rights, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 11). You may also escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unsatisfied.
9. Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies to run the site and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
10. Children
The Platform is for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Where the DPDP Act requires verifiable parental consent for a child, we will not process such data without it.
